I have returned

I have returned from a few weeks of distractions. Part of this is the fact that my skill training plan requires me to spend more money on skill books than I currently have and so it's off out to work in order to be able to afford them.

Ever since I left the corp and went back to my nice cozy original corp (current max online players at any one time: 1) the game has been a lot more relaxing to play. The corp I was in had rules about having to be on once a week for a corp wide mining op, and also if you don't plan to log in for more than 2 weeks you have to say as such. These are all worthwhile rules, especially the mining one as it really helps the corp feel connected, but it did mean that I started having to plan my life around the game, which is just wrong. The final straw came when it became clear that it was corp wars from now on and I would have to work in the interests of the corp instead of my own selfish goals. Again, this is valid and seperates a good corp from a bad one but if I'm only planning on playing when I feel like it I'd rather be able to drop in ever week or so to run a few missions than getting beat up about lack of commitment (which, to be fair, I left before it was an issue).

This means I'm currently running the odd mission when I feel like it. I have about a week to go on being able to fly HACs, which will take me much longer than a week to get to because I keep deciding I need another skill first, so I'm going to need to save up some serious cash soon. Maybe I should do some trading to build up my cash. With buy and sell orders I can even make cash while not playing. Now there's a perfect setup for my casual attitude at the moment.
