First Eve TV review

So Eve TV is running and the first match is over. What's my opinion so far? Lots of analysis after the matches that feels very much like the type of thing you get for your average football game and the in-game footage is interesting but hard to see what's going on. It would be nice to be able to see the loadouts and Cap levels as the match progresses. A more tactical view would be nice too so that we can see where everybody is in relation to each other as it was hard to see what sort of tactics...

Gamasutra - A Journalistic Bent: Blowing Things Up in Space

Gamasutra - A Journalistic Bent: Blowing Things Up in Space ...Lots of text snipped... That, I believable, is what makes Eve Online the most important online combat system in the world today. Massively multiplayer developers, prove me wrong. (Via Gamasutra.) Here's an interesting piece from Gamasutra on combat in Eve. He's slightly in favour of how it works in case you hadn't guessed and so not exactly neutral, but nether the less it's an interesting read.

It's all in the cards

As I'm sure most of you know there is an Eve CCG coming out soon, and the site has the rule book and some sample cards up. Having looked through the rules it looks like the game may be fun, but it's going to suffer from the curse of CCGs: The cost. It doesn't look that expensive as far as other CCGs go though, but I doubt it'll have any interest to anybody who doesn't play Eve itself. Now if the cards offered in game rewards as they are promising for the WoW CCG then I'd be a little more interested....
