If you solo Eve then you're missing out on most of the game, but if you don't put enough time in the you're missing out of the multiplayer side as well. I'm putting in so little time nowadays that even logging in to set new skills is a rarity (finishing off a load of level 5s does that for you). There's a new gears of war video up on Live Marketplace and it's nice. Here's a link to a downloadable and streaming version although you loose the nice high-res-ness of the version from Live in the process. I assume I'm not alone in thinking that this is looking very, very nice.

There's a free beta of Phantasy Star Universe up on XBox Live. The download is about a gig so I set it downloading and went off to do other things. The next morning I remembered I had downloaded it and so jumped in to give it a go. I'm curious about what it's like and I have to say that my first impressions are rather disappointing. I know it's a beta and everything, and also they're capping the number of players online at once but I didn't manage to connect at all over the weekend. I don't think I was pop-capped...
