Does anybody remember when the R&D agents went into Eve? I can't remember the exact date, but I do know that I signed up pretty sharpish when it was clear that it was the way to get into Tech 2 and you know what? Ever since then I got nothing. The RPs mounted up, but the BPOs just never came rolling in.
Well that was before last night. I logged on and checked my mail (damn that blinking mail bug) and there was a message from an agent. Not my usual lowlife waster agents who try and foist rubbish on my every so often in order to keep me happy, this time it was my rubbish R&D agent who I'd always assumed was just pretending to do work for me. The excitement mounted as I contemplated what I was going to do with my new BPO. Would it be ammo? Would it be a ship? What area was I researching anyway, I started it off years ago.
You know what the BPO was? A friggin ECM Burst II. They go for about 1.7million in Jita and aren't going to cost anything near that to make, but does anybody buy them? They can be handy in missions, but the high activation cost, slow recycle time, restricted range and the fact that they're a mid slot item all hurt it. They could be useful in PvP I guess, but I don't know if anybody actually uses them. If they are then they're not mentioning it on the forums. The BPO isn't listed in the item database on the official site so I don't know if that just means that it was added with Revelations or is just overlooked.
For now I'm going to consider shoving it in the POS and research its ME until it's optimal (although that only shaves a small amount from the price). Then I'll either see what the BPO will sell for, make a few items to play with and consider how much I can make off the thing. It may not be much if they don't shift, but it does mean that I can be a tech 2 producer now. Now where's this cartel that everybody talks about on the forums?
