So what do you do when Eve is down?

This weeks patch for even went, well, not as well as they hoped and so thousands found themselves with an evening to spare. Since the best thing to do TV wise on a Wednesday night is to shout at Torchwood ("Stop making comments about having no breath because he's dead all the time if he's going to breath so heavily while it's said!") I decided to spend most of the evening elsewhere. In this case it was Middle Earth.

Yes folks, I've been playing Lord of the Rings online. Don't tell anybody but it's quite fun.

First impressions of LOTRO are very good. If you start as a Dwarf the game looks unfairly like WoW, which I think is a problem, but the Elf stuff looks great and very detailed. I'm going to push through the main plot with a regular group so I'm not going to go mad with levelling and savour the experience.

In fact that's the key. A nice light release for when I don't have time to throw myself fully into Eve.

I'll give a better idea of my impressions of the game on the podcast this week.

I always end up twiddling my thumbs when I cant get onto EVE, its sad but its true, I am addicted to the game. I hope that EVE is fixed soon, my thumbs cant take it much longer not being able to play it.

In my case this wasn't a problem since I've been away this week, traveling to London (UK) for work. As such, I loaded up Homeworld 2 on Tuesday to be able to pass the time on the 6 hour flight.

I've been wanting to replay the game for a long time now, and this was the perfect chance. I don't see myself investing into another MMO, as I would not have the time to enjoy a new one thoroughly.

Glad you're enjoying LotRo though. =)
