Metal Gear Solid is known for it's plot, you're always going to be in cutscene-tastic land when you play a new one. Well the new game is coming out very soon and some details have started to drop about some of the more interesting features. First up is the 4.6GB mandatory install. I guess we all have to live with those nowadays, even if it does mean that very soon you'll not be able to just drop and and play an older game without micro-managing your disk space on your PS3 because the hard disks are so small and you're going to need to uninstall old games to fit new ones on. The real stand out, head up it's own arse feature (and I mean that in a good kind way I think) is that at least one of the cutscenes is 90 minutes long. That's a film! It's also really silly and puts the game with the later wing commanders as perfect examples of game devs going off on one with video after the suddenly realise their new media can't be filled by their games alone.
Piss taking aside how many people are actually going to watch that all the way through? I'm betting not many people, especially as they're going to spend the last hour and 20 minutes wondering just how long this cutscene really is and when they can get back to creeping around killing people.
Yes, OK. I know I will. I'm just strange, OK?
