Saints Row 2 First Thoughts

I've been playing Saint's Row 2 for a few days now. In fact I've completed one of the gang story lines so I've put some serious hours in already, but I'm not going to give any final thoughts until I've watched the end credits. So, what are my opinions so far? I played Saint Row 1 and really enjoyed, and so far I've enjoyed this one for the same reasons. It's got a nice sense of humour (The Oceans 11 plan mission briefing springs to mind as a nice touch, as does your character singing along to songs such as Final...

PS3 Firmware update and some questions

More details on tomorrows PS3 firmware update have been released, and it contains one feature I've been willing to kill for and one that's just going to be very useful. First up is the killer feature for me. The controllers can be set to turn themselves off if they've been left idle for a while. This is major for me because I can't just swap the batteries when they run down and I watch a lot of DVDs on my PS3. I also leave it running without turning it off immediately quite a lot and so I'm forever finding...

Force Unleashed

I finally finished Force Unleashed last night after taking a week off to play other things and last night I forced myself to push past the part I had given up on and make a break for the end. I've commented on my initial impressions of the game before, but you can't give a full review without playing all the way through any game. The first level is amazingly fun and if you review based just on that then you're going to have a different opinion to if you've played through to the end. What I like Lightsabers! Force! What more do you...

A Tale in the Desert

As M'collegue mentioned on our last show he's been playing A Tale in the Desert and quite enjoying the experience. Never one to let him have fun, the other day I decided to jump in to mock his choices and find out what the game was really like. If I had to say the game reminded me of anything I'd say it was Star Wars Galaxies. Graphically they're similar (Galaxies being better) and there's an awful lot of building sculptures using dropped objects in the same way as you decorated your house in Galaxies. But this isn't a...
