I am not a game dev

I am not a game dev, and I have never been; I just work on an application that is designed like a game and has lots of video, audio and graphics. You could look at it as a game that has no game play (or a simulation that only simulates data), and in fact one of our test tools actually involves using a real game to generate data that we can then use so our test tools are much more fun to use than the actual app. What this means is that I've got a really long list of things I...

It must be coming up to a trade show again because I'm back working on flashy graphical features. You need something new to get people looking at your application it seems and so I'm back trying to implement GIS features and spending far too much time in the dreaded Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D namespace. 3D graphics makes my head hurt, but it sure beats trying to track down obscure bugs in DirectShow filters that fail to behave correctly with certain video files, or trying to get some data from C# to COM which really doesn't want to go. Some days I wish I...

The problem with a blog is that strange people can say strange things about your posts

I was going through my feedback and I came across this post. Since he doesn't have comments enabled on his blog (shame on you) I'll ask here: what do you mean? How is that obfuscated? It's called an example that needs no other explaining. I could have demonstrated the original code but that would have meant that I needed to expain way too much of the system and that would have made getting the point far too difficult to get across. If he actually thinks that making the change itself if obfuscating the code then all I have to say...
