I am not a game dev, and I have never been; I just work on an application that is designed like a game and has lots of video, audio and graphics. You could look at it as a game that has no game play (or a simulation that only simulates data), and in fact one of our test tools actually involves using a real game to generate data that we can then use so our test tools are much more fun to use than the actual app.
