Heres some news!
Wookietastic
I expect this is an occassion for great excitement for People Who Like Star Wars, and more specifically, People Who Think Wookies Are Cool. Personally I always thought Star Wars could have done just as well without Chewbacca (who was generally outclassed and outacted by a midget in a wheeley bin with no lines at all), and certainly Episode III could do without an Army of Wookies, which at present, seems to be the big selling point for the film. "Come see! We have not one Chewbacca, but many!" Feh.
As for Galaxies, well, this expansion is clearly a tie-in to go with the new film, and will most likely reflect the new film as accurately as the original game reflects the original films; i.e. Superficially At Best. Some new planets (apparently all lifted from KOTOR); Wookieworld, Trandoshan Prime, Rodian Centauri and LV-429, home of the Xenomorph infestation discovered by the Nostromo. Okay... I made that last one up, but it would be considerably more interesting than the previous three.
The problem with Galaxies, I always thought, was that it was already a huge game, surface-area-wise, but there wasn't actually a terribly large amount of Things in that area, aside from uninspired randomly generated monster nest spawns, mining machinery, and housing estates. Some places were indeed quite beautiful, but on the whole, More Planet is probably not something Galaxies really needs, considering the entire population of each server could comfortably carry out their business on just the one planet. And Tatooine is the only one Star Wars people really care about anyway.
Other features seem sparse at this stage; a new Anakin spaceship for the Jump To Lightspeed people, some Anakin cybernetic implants (Nothing new there - Anarchy Online has always had implants, and a pain in the arse they were too - figuratively and in some cases, litterally!)
My favourite is Asteroid Mining, which let's face it, will have to have some pretty miraculous game designery to make Interesting for any length of time. And most Enraging of all - a massive Combat Balance Revamp, something needed since release to make the existing dire counter-intuitive system make sense and be worth having a go at. Of course this Combat Balance has been promised to the players since well before Jump To Lightspeed.
I expect there also will be some god-awful Kevin J. Anderson 'Expanded Universe' fan-fic new player race; the Erebulions ("You know...the one fifth from the back in Jabba's Palace, 14m 43s to 14m 45s, in RotJ, that looked like an expresso machine trying to have children with a rhubarb patch!") or somesuch, and maybe a new profession; Psychoanalyst, Personal Shopper, Hooker, something like that.
All in all, moderately interesting, but frankly, the only reason I'm still subscribed to Galaxies at all, is that it's part of the Sony Access Pass, and therefore would save me no money at all to cancel. So unless Access Pass people get Rage of Wookies for free also, I expect I'll be somewhat more likely to 'Take The Blue Pill' than actually pay money for this...
