Nothing witty today - I'm recoverning from a 4 A.M. finish in Planetside. It was one of those infamous 'Just One More Go' moments that video game enthusiasts the world over will recognise with trepidation. In my case it was 'I'll stay until we've taken this base' - a process that can take from fifteen minutes to, as I discovered last night, five hours! And we still hadn't secured the adjoining Tower.
Numbers on Werner server are low enough at that time of night that there is only ONE fight going on, so everyone is faced with a choice of a massive three-way deadlock at one base for several hours, or ninja-capturing empty bases on empty continents, and since most people are there for the fighting, it's no choice at all. Still, a generally satisfying night/morning, with me finishing in the black, K/D-wise after an outstanding sniper run in the later part of the match. The poor Heavy Assault chaps didn't seem to be having as much fun though, repeatedly dashing themselves against a pretty near unbreachable side corridor defence. Still, I image they enjoy that sort of thing - the hectic rough and tumble of chain-gun dentistry in enclosed spaces. Not my cup of tea at all!
So while I slump comatose on my keyboard, I'll leave you with a slightly relevant link:
Planetside Stratics: House of Commons - a silly name for 'Dev Q&A'
Nothing particularly earth shattering there to be honest, but then I think the only thing Planetside actually needs, is more players...
Goodnight! Zzzzz....
