I got a medal!
I've no idea how long I've been playing Planetside now...it seems like decades, but my personal record in the 'Merit Commendation' stakes is pretty poor so far. To date, my only one has been the 'Has Still Not Given Up After A Year' Distingushed Cross, which is hardly a glittering accolade of leet pwnage skillz.
It's not that I don't put the effort in, it's just that I'm nowhere nearly as cold and calculating about kills as everyone else. I'll invariably charge into the fray, take the incoming Super-Soldier down to 10% health, and get killed. Then the guy directly behind me finishes the job and gets and easy kill. Alas, Planetside only cares about who got the last shot in, not who did the most work. I ought to be less of a team player, and more of a kill-whore, I think.
Anyway, see if you can guess which medal, out of a suprisingly large and diverse list, I got first?
That's Right..., the one for standing in the way of tanks with a bazooka while they try to simultaneously run me over AND insta-gib me with the 150mm cannon. Something is very wrong somewhere, and I suspect it's probably me. It's only fifty tanks, and it's taken me months to accomplish, but I feel inordinately proud for some reason.
