As promised earlier, I managed to catch the EQ2's-Day radio show last night:
Online Gaming Radio OGaming
Of course, I ballsed up my timezone calculations again, and so missed the first half hour. I've never got those right, and as a result have missed pretty much every event or apppointment I've ever tried to get to, online. Does PST have daylight savings? I don't know but do know we'd all be a lot less confused living on a flat Earth.
But despite that, the rest of the show was very good. Again, not up to 'Professional' standards and budgets, but still very listenable, and better than the clip I had a go at earlier in the week. The format was mostly talk-radio Everquest II punditry; an analysis of the SOE Worlds magazine hints on the upcoming expansion, a section on Frogloks, some expert looks at class balance, and a healthy dose of Halfling Fetishism, all punctuated with music breaks (none of which I found too offensive), and of course, feedback and views from the accompanying IRC chatroom, and in-game tells.
Hats off to Monte, Akria, and the other chap whose name I've forgotten, for a interesting and entertaining show. I only had two real gripes. As an esoteric gamer of many games, I thought it was a bit on the Everquest heavy side, but then that's not really their fault...it is a show about Everquest afterall so does exactly what it says on the tin. My other problem was their propensity to playing music from Planetside during their music breaks. As i was playing EVE Online at the time, this both confused the hell out of me, and sent me into a kind of paranoid hypertension that really wasn't that helpful to someone carting 20,000m3 of Candy Floss fifteen jumps through Absolutely Safe space.
All in all, recommended listening, even if, like me, you're only casually interested in Everquest.
