This is SOE we're talking about, right? I can only begin to imagine how angry the remaining SWG players are by now, but having the expansion you bought redendered mostly useless within a week or so of buying it would test even my limitless patience (clinical addition). You know, I was quite prepared to pass the whole episode off as just a hiccup - teething troubles, but then I recently recieved an email from one of my longtime online friends, who loved SWG with a passion, letting me know not to look for them in there anymore, as they'd quit. I thought they'd be there for life, frankly, so when Woody at GUComics called Flylamp on SWG a frew days later, I was not at all suprised.
My friend, possibly one of the most loyal customers SWG is ever likely to have, seemed particularly galled at having bought the expansion:
"...I just cancelled my station pass. Sony tricked me into paying 30 dollars for an expansion and then changed the game the next day to something I don't want to play ... I feel like an utter fool for having sticked with this company for so long..."
An invaluable lesson here for all who would design and run an MMO...
