All a bit quiet here at the moment, being in something of a between-games lull. There's the weekly
Guild Wars: Nightfall thing of course, and I'm still quite captivated by this unusual Not-MMORPG, and there's a lot of mileage left in it. Perhaps the rationing is a way to preserve the games we love to love to death, or something.
Second Life continues to fascinate, but is largely an exercise in trying to figure out the arcana behind Sculpted Primitives, and doesn't make for particularly interesting reading.
So failing anything else, here's a picture of my gaming space, as demanded by
Cuppycake:
It's a little on the noisy side, but delivers unprecedented performance, at speeds unheard of in the Modern Age! I'm not sure it's quite robust enough to run Vanguard, mind you. Remarkably enough, it still runs cooler than the average XBox 360.
And here is where the magic happens, The Blogging Shed:
Which just goes to show the effort that goes into the creation of each lovingly hand-crafted post you'll find here. They look happy, largely because I told them that if they didn't smile, the magic box pointing at them would take their souls!
But enough about 19th Century Workplace Ethics! Having somewhat run out of current games, and still awaiting the next crop of forthcoming games, notably
Pirates of the Burning Sea and
Tabula Rasa, I've a bit of time to kill. And of course having bitched recently about how all games are WoW, and that I'm bored of WoW, or words to that effect, it high time I got off my backside and went looking for the Others, this nebulous fringe of games that Try Things Differently.
In that spirit, look out for the return of Operation Cheapseats soon, as I give
Auto Assault,
City of Heroes and
Dungeon & Dragons Online long-deserving looks, via the impossibly unrepresentative medium of the 14 Day Free Trial! Three titles that I've never played, but have often felt I ought to have done. More on those later...
