Episode 12: On The Dangers of Sending DNA Into Space Well, the attempt to go weekly almost made it! Its a surprisingly tricky business, actually. Not the rambling, of course, and regular listeners will have come to understand exactly how much preparation goes into one of our regular "efforts", which when all is said and done, is basically the pair of us sitting in a pub, nattering about online gaming, only without the pub.

Its the technical side of it all that seems to throw up the most monkey wrenches, and it has taken a number of weeks for my Cohost and Producer to put together the necessaries to get anything out at all. The foibles of the Mac had previously been our greatest headache, what with USB microphones suddenly going all crackly for no apparent reason, needing to be unplugged and plugged in again to stop it. This in turn seemed to cause the Mac itself to lose all its audio input settings or something, requiring even more mucking about in control panels and whatnot. All very disruptive, just when I'm getting up a head of steam for a decent rant!

A new week and a new Technical Solution, however, which looks like it'll take a huge amount of the mucking about out of it all. I'm sure you can find more of the techie stuff over at the Producer's blog, where he also seems to be doing some kind of One-A-Day EVE Blogging Challenge. You can also castigate him for editing the whole thing into mono there too!

Indeed; you're not going deaf in one ear - we've just decided to do the whole thing for the extreme lefthand side of the studio, for giggles!

This weekend is the Van Hemlock Summer Roadshow Outdoor Broadcast Adventure, at the West Dean Chilli Fiesta, (for reasons which still haven't become clear), and hopefully, he'll have gotten to the 'Using The Righthand Channel As Well' chapter in the manual by then!

A refreshingly comprehensive and currently up-to-date-ish reference for those who think that losing 30million ISK in Insurance (plus fittings), is a tad too much to pay for Discovery and Novelty!
