Another week, another show:
Van Hemlock Podcast (Ep 53): Too Teppo To Handle!
Indeed, a guest on the show this week; Matt of Limited Edition fame who took some time out of a busy Saturday lunchtime to join us to natter a bit about MMOs and gaming in general. Always nice to not have to solely listen to the Cohost droning on for an hour and if anything Matt has played even more MMOs than I have, and several that I've never gotten round to look at, including Chronicles of Spellborn and Priates of the Burning Sea. Good to get a bit of perspective and learn firsthand what goes on in some of those other worlds I've yet to see.
Matt is more customarily found on the Limited Edition Podcast, or at his own blog, Teppotastic - The musings of the eternal student, where we hope to read of his big corporate push to EVE Online's 0.0 Space in due course!
I'm still a bit uncertain about the whole Podcast Guests thing to be honest. We've got the technology to do it and have had for some time, either with the little handheld zoom thing on location, like the Chillifest or KiasaCon'09, or via Skype, as in the above show, if said guest doesn't mind the slight quality downgrade that entails.
Its more that I'm not sure how best to work the idea into the existing show format, such that it is. Certainly enjoyed having new folks on the show in the past and its generally been a lot of fun. Perhaps thats it; 'too much' fun? Getting extra folks on the show runs a risk of it turning into just three, four, five, more gaming nerds quite litterally gossiping for an hour, in a whelter of in-jokes that are only amusing if you were there.
Paranoia? Perhaps, and at any rate, it's not so very different to just having two gaming nerds gossiping for an hour anyway. What do you think? More new voices on the show, or less?
