Here is us, doing some talking, about E3!
Van Hemlock (ep55): Eclectic, Effervescent, Egocentric!
Which to be fair, is mostly a show brought to you by Jon, with me heckling at regular intervals! Its a What Were Playing One, and the Twitter Question was: "Another E3 come and gone. See anything you liked? Didn't see something you hoped to? Let me know cos I missed the whole thing!"
E3 didn't really give me personally a lot to drool over, and seemed mostly to be about Console Stuffs this year, in particular, new and interesting ways to look a fool in the privacy of your own living room, with a wide variety of novel motion-based controllers on the way. I find myself under increasing pressure to get a console; specifically a 360. My reluctance isn't so much about cost, although there are a number of more important household repair bills I've been putting off which really ought to be taken care of before throwing down £200 for a toy. Its more about my old Nemesis, time and a deeply ingrained pattern of behavior built up over the years that says Computer Games are played at a desk, not on a couch.
I don't know if I can unlearn all that, or if I even want to. I do have an original XBox and handful of games, but never seem to take it as seriously as the PC. Perhaps thats the point? Regardless, I expect I'll end up with a 360 at some point in the not too distant future, mostly out of peer pressure and a lamentably weak will. Ho hum!
